Richard Horn
Chief Executive Officer
Richard Horn is Strategic Capital Partners’ CEO. Richard’s primary focus is expanding the company’s office and industrial portfolio. He led the company through the transition from a fund management business to a real estate operating company and since 2014, SCP developments and acquisitions grew to more than $1 billion of office and industrial properties.
In 2002, Richard founded Horn Properties to invest in and develop office, industrial, land and senior housing properties. As the general partner, Horn Properties developed projects valued at more than $300 million. Among them, Metro Air Business Park, an industrial park adjacent to the Indianapolis International Airport.
Richard began his real estate career at Duke Realty where he led the REIT into the Chicago, Minneapolis and St. Louis markets, and expanded its presence in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, Nashville, Raleigh and other southeastern cities. As Duke’s President, Richard oversaw development, acquisitions, management and leasing for more than 110 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space in the firm’s 13 strategic cities.
Richard earned a Bachelor of Science and MBA from Indiana University and a Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
Richard sits on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Education Initiatives (GEI). His volunteer contributions include service to The Excel Center, Young President’s Organization (YPO), World President’s Organization (WPO), Urban Land Institute (ULI), NAIOP Indiana, the National Entrepreneurship Foundation, United Way of Central Indiana, Rebuilding Together and the Carmel Dad’s Club.
