Strategic Capital Partners Names Richard Horn President SCP Properties

Real estate veteran brings more than 25 years of real estate experience

Indianapolis, Indiana, May 18, 2011—Strategic Capital Partners, LLC (SCP) has named Richard W. Horn President of Strategic Capital Partners Properties. In this role, Horn will lead SCP Properties’ investment efforts by focusing on acquiring and developing commercial properties in MSAs across the interior U.S. in the $20 million to $50 million range.

“Strategic Capital Partners is pleased to welcome Rich to our team,” said Rick Hurd, President of SCP. “His wealth of real estate knowledge, experience and expertise will allow us to pursue additional acquisition and development opportunities as an operator, while continuing to work with our existing joint venture real estate
operating partners on a national level.”

Horn is an established real estate veteran. He joined Duke Realty Corporation in 1984, quickly rose through the firm and was named its President in 2000. As such, he led the company’s Operating Committee, overseeing the development, acquisition and leasing in 13 strategic cities comprising more than 110 million
square feet of office, industrial and retail space.

In 2002, he created Horn Properties to invest in and develop office, industrial, land and senior housing projects, including an 800,000 SF industrial park located adjacent to the new Indianapolis International Airport terminal. Horn was also Chairman of The Stratford Companies, a senior housing development and operating company. While at Stratford, the company developed three continuing care retirement
communities with a total investment of $250 million and employed over 250 people.

“I am happy to join SCP and its talented and dedicated group of real estate professionals,” said Horn. “I look forward to working with them to build an outstanding commercial portfolio.”

Formed in 2005, Strategic Capital Partners, LLC (SCP) is a privately-held, real estate investment
management firm that employs a value-added investment strategy of acquiring commercial and multi-family properties across the United States. SCP, through its Strategic Partners Value Enhancement Fund, Strategic Capital Partners Real Estate Opportunity Fund I, and Strategic Partners Urban Development Group, has already invested more than $1 billion in total capital.
